In the provision of Aikido instruction to our students, and providing web services to prospective students and others, Hudson Valley Aikido and Good Stance, Inc. handle personal data. We do this in the case of prospective students only to advertise, measure traffic and improve our services. For members and mailing list subscribers, we do it to enable us to keep you updated on dojo announcements, news and changes to our schedule.

We are committed to the privacy of those we work with and to protecting your personal information.

Information we collect

  • For users who visit our website, we track data on viewers’ activity on the site to better measure what people are interested in and ensure that the site is running smoothly. We may store cookies on your computer. This data is generally activity data and device data, to enable us to remember you and understand what you’re looking for. We use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and SquareSpace to collect this information.

  • For users who sign up to our mailing list, we use MailChimp to manage that list.

  • For users who submit online forms on our site (Contact Us, Trial Class signups) those forms are processed by SquareSpace.

  • For users who sign up for our classes, data required for those payments and subscriptions is handled by Moonclerk, who provide services of this nature.

How we use this information

We use personal information strictly to be able to continue to provide services to members, respond to queries, send out newsletters, and understand website traffic.

How we share this information

We do not generally share information with third parties. Your information may be accessible to the other providers listed above (for example, MailChimp to provide newsletter services). We do not sell your information.

Privacy rights and choices

Users have the right to control their data.

  • Users who subscribe to our mailing list may unsubscribe at any time from the links provided in the emails. We operate a strict opt-in-only policy.

  • Users who wish to opt out of online analytics and tracking information may do so by blocking cookies on our site, or using privacy-protecting plugins or browsers. Use of these should not impact the use of our site at all.
